DWR Logo

PFC-Free Durable Water Repellent technology is a polymer coating added to outerwear to provide water resistant protection. DWR treated fabrics prevent light rain and snow precipitation from saturating the outer fabric surface and prevents fabric from becoming weighed down by excess moisture, for optimized comfort and freedom of movement.

Polygiene Logo

Polygiene StayFresh-treated garments allow you to enjoy the confidence of fresh, all-day wear while minimizing the need for frequent washing. By extending the time between washes, these garments save you valuable time, reduce water consumption, and minimize waste.

UVX Logo

UVX rating is a measurement of the ultraviolet protection provided by a fabric used in garments, indicating how effectively the fabric blocks UVA and UVB radiation from the sun, which can cause skin damage. Fabrics are treated or constructed using densely woven or knitted fabrics and UV absorbent fibers to reflect UVA and UVB light.

4-way stretch Logo

Four-way mechanical stretch fabrics stretch and recover in all four directions. Made from a combination of natural and synthetic fibers, and elastane, highly elastic synthetic fiber, used to provide additional stretch and recovery properties to create a highly flexible, comfortable, and durable fabric that is ideal for use in athletic, outdoor, medical and industrial applications.

anti-snag Logo

Anti-snag construction is achieved by using specialized yarns that are less likely to break or unravel when pulled or snagged by incorporating specific knitting techniques that reinforce the fabric and reduce the risk of snagging. The result is a more durable and resilient fabric that is less likely to snag or run; improving the quality and longevity of the finished product.

Heavy duty Logo

Heavy-duty, heavy weight nylon and polyester fabrics are constructed to withstand the most rigorous and extreme industrial applications and weather conditions. HD fabrics are also coated to achieve a high level of water resistance.

Waterproof zipper Logo

STORMTECH Waterproof zippers are built to keep you dry in extreme wet weather conditions. A waterproof polyurethane adhesive film is bonded to the zipper tape to create a waterproof seal on both vislon and nylon coil zippers.

Technology Icons

To help our customers quickly identify the benefits of our high-performance gear, we have developed a collection of 8 technology icons:

Waterproof Icon

Keeps outside moisture from penetrating the fabric. The waterproof rating is typically expressed in milliliters (1,000mm to 10,000mm) based on water pressure tolerance over a 24-hour period. Generally, the higher the rating, the higher the waterproof protection.

Basic | Level 1: 600mm to 2,000mm
High | Level 2: 2,000mm to 8,000mm
Extreme | Level 3: 8,000mm to 15,000mm+

Breathable Icon

The movement of air from one side of the fabric to the other to keep the wearer comfortable. The breathability rating is typically expressed in a gram measurement of how much vapor a square meter (G/M2) of fabric will allow to pass in a 24-hour period (typically, 1,000G/M2 to 10,000G/M2) the higher the number, the more breathable the garment.

Basic | Level 1: 1,000g/m2
High | Level 2: 5,000g/m2
Extreme | Level 3: 15,000g/m2+

Climate Range Icon

A system developed by STORMTECH by taking several factors into consideration such as activity level, wind chill, sun exposure etc. A useful guide for selecting the appropriate garment for your adventure.

Mild: +20°C (68°F) to +5°C (41°F)
Cold: +5°C (41°F) to -10°C (14°F)
Extreme Cold: -10°C (14°F) to -30°C (-22°F)

Sealed Seams Icon

Seam sealing is the application of a specialized waterproof film used to seal seams. Because sewing needles create small holes that will cause the fabric to leak, seam-sealing is used to seal the holes, to make the seam waterproof. Fully seam-sealed indicates that all seams are sealed, to make a watertight outer membrane.

Critically Sealed Seams Icon

The critically sealed seams icon indicates that the seams and junctions most vulnerable to leak under normal conditions - typically the seams on the neck, shoulders, and chest – are sealed. In this case, not all seams are sealed. Critical seam sealing is a suitable technology for most outdoor activities, but full seam sealing is best for extreme weather.

Ultrasonic Welded Seams Icon

Seams are ultrasonically fused together to form a continuous, impermeable barrier – more durable than traditional seams because there are no needle holes that would allow water to penetrate the outer shell. Ultrasonic welding creates durable permanent sealed seams in technical fabrics and protection without adding bulk or weight to the garment.

Device Size Icon

The maximum device size icon indicates the maximum size device that the product device pocket or compartment will accommodate.

RFID Block Icon

RFID block materials effectively block radio frequency. Chip-enabled cards like credit cards and identification cards can be wirelessly ‘skimmed’ to collect your personal data. RFID block technology protects from electronic pickpocketing and wireless theft.

Windproof Icon

The windproof icon ensures that the fabric effectively shields its wearer from drafts and winds, providing comfort and protection in any weather condition.
